-pumpkin seeds are covered in a white husk
-Seeds have three parts to them which are
endosperm ( nutrients ) which is food supply for the embryo
a seed coat which protects the seed
-The embryo is the an young stage of a plant that will grow only under certain conditions. It has either one cotyledon, two cotyledon, or more. -The endosperm is what came from the parent through double fertilization. It is usually rich in protein, oil, or starch. -The seed coat comes from the tissue surrounding the ovule. The seed coat is to keep the seed from drying out and also to keep it from getting harmed.
-cotyledons are known as the "seed leaves." They are the first leaves that are seen. there are two classifications, which are monocot and dicot. monocot is one cotyledon, and dicot is two cotyledon. mono means one. and di means two. an example of a monocot would be grass, but most plants are dicot.
